This guide will demonstrate the complete process of connecting Sylvania smart light to your home WiFi network and integrating with Alexa.
Sylvania provides a wide range of smart lighting at economical pricing. These smart lights are energy efficient and support Amazon Alexa and Google Home integration.
Which means you can control it with your voice commands. I’m sure you already checked its features before placing the order.
So, without further ado, let’s jump to the setup process…
How To Connect Sylvania Smart Light To Alexa
To connect your Sylvania smart light to Alexa, you first need to connect it to your home WiFi network.
You must download the Sylvania Smart WiFi App to pair your light with a WiFi network. Once the smart light is connected to your home WiFi, you can easily link it to Alexa.
I’m explaining how to pair the Sylvania smart light with a home WiFi network to operate remotely via your smartphone, then explain the integration process with Alexa.
Follow these steps to connect a Sylvania smart light to Alexa:
1. Install the Sylvania Smart WiFi App

Sylvania smart lights only work with its official smartphone app. You can download the Sylvania Smart WiFi app from the Play Store or App Store.
2. Register Account
Next, open the Sylvania Smart WiFi app, agree to the privacy policy, and register an account. Select the country and enter your email address to receive the verification code.

3. Set Password
Once you enter the six-digit verification code received in your email, the app will ask you to set an account password.

Enter a strong password (combination of upper case, lower case, and special characters) to proceed ahead.
4. Allow Local Network Access
The Sylvania Smart WiFi app will request your permission to access the local network. Tap the Allow button to continue.

5. Add Device
You’ll see a (+) icon on the top-right corner of the app’s screen; tap on that and select Add Device.

6. Select Device Type
Sylvania provides a wide range of smart home products, such as smart lights, plugs, LED strips, accent lights, smart cameras, and smart sensors.
Tap the Light Bulb option because we’re pairing a smart light.

7. Grant Location Permission
Sylvania Smart WiFi needs your location permission to access nearby devices. A location permission pop-up will appear on your app’s screen; tap Allow Once or Allow While Using App.

8. Connect to WiFi Network
Next, you must select a 2.4 GHz WiFi network because Sylvania smart lights don’t support a 5 GHz network.
Select the WiFi network, enter its Password, and tap the Confirm button.

9. Reset the Smart Bulb
Power on your smart bulb and check if it blinks rapidly (2-3 times per second).
If not, reset your Sylvania smart bulb by pressing the On-Off switch several times. (Press the power switch On-Off, On-Off, On-Off, On-Off)

Next, tap the Confirm button to proceed ahead.
10. Wait
Your smartphone will start discovering the nearby smart light. Please wait until it detects and pairs with the Sylvania light bulb.

Ensure you’ve enabled your smartphone Bluetooth and that the smart light and smartphone are close to the WiFi router.
After a few seconds, the smart light will be paired with your smartphone and home WiFi network, and it’s ready to use.

It’s time to connect it with Amazon Alexa to control it with voice commands. Follow the next steps correctly.
11. Open Alexa App
Go to your smartphone apps drawer and open the Amazon Alexa app.

12. Select Skills & Games
Go to More> Skills & Games and type Sylvania Smart WiFi in the search box.

13. Enable Sylvania Smart WiFi Skills
You’ll see a few Alexa Skills in the search results. Select the Sylvania Smart WiFi and tap Enable To Use.

14. Link Sylvania’s Account to Alexa

When you authorize Alexa to access your Sylvania account, it discovers all connected devices. Just follow on-screen instructions.

Boom! Your Sylvania smart light is now connected to Alexa and ready to take voice commands. Just say, “Alexa, turn on the light.”
Alexa Voice Commands For Sylvania Smart Lights
I advise you to rename your Sylvania smart light from the Alexa app to take the actual experience of smart lights.
For example, if you’ve installed this light in your kitchen, then rename it “Kitchen Light” and try the following voice commands:
- Alexa, turn on kitchen light.
- Alexa, turn off kitchen light.
- Alexa, dim kitchen light.
- Alexa, brighten kitchen light.
- Alexa, set the kitchen light to 20 percent.
